Weise enjoyed his first full season in the NHL as a member of the Vancouver Canucks during the 2011-12 NHL season. He scored his first National Hockey League goal in his seventh game with the Canucks (his 17th NHL game overall) on October 20, 2011.

Weise would help provide stability to the team's fourth line, which had gone through 14 different players the previous year.
